Carl Trenfield Architects recently welcomed students of Charles Holland’s MArch Studio ‘In the Country’ for a collaborative residency, exploring at 1:1 the material, structural and expressive possibilities of a new rural vernacular.
The two week residency concluded with an exhibition and talk, provocatively titled ‘Punk Vernacular’ and was chaired by Dr Kim Trogal in conversation with Professor Charles Holland, Carl Trenfield, and the participating students.
The work will be documented via a catalogue aimed at disseminating what was learnt, the outcomes, and how this radical pedagogical experiment could evolve over forthcoming academic years.
With thanks to the exceptional students for their effort, enthusiasm, and their diverse outputs.
